However, I cannot in good conscience thumb up a blog that has published an entire magazine article on its page without permission from the author (even while citing the source). I am pretty darned sure that's a blatant copyright violation.

The makeup techniques pictured aren't bad, but they could be a lot better. This is underscored by the fact that the finished result isn't properly shown. Ridiculous.

As for the one on finding good makeup for pale skin tones... the model they use isn't really pale! (RumpusParable already pointed this out... and her rant, which I relate to very much, makes me want to write a proper article on makeup for the very pale/not yellow.)

As for why models' skin is so shiny -- most likely it has just been cleansed and moisturized. Doesn't mean the skin isn't clean -- in fact, stripping your face of all oils is counterindicated, despite what we're taught as teenagers. There are soooo many misconceptions about facial cleansing... but that's another story.

Sheesh. I obviously should go write some tutorials of my own and make a video or so. Too bad I'm so lazy.
